In case some of you were wondering how come the DSS exhibition ended up having mainly pictures of our youths instead of the exhibits... oh well, blame it on me la =) Had a pretty hard time uploading the pics on blogspot...sometimes it hanged... sometimes it looked bad..etc etc. But here are the more important shots- THE EXHIBITS themselves, and the stories they tell of God's faithfulness in preserving a legacy for our faith =) Enjoy!

Walking through the exhibition was an amazing experience for me, as history unravelled before my eyes... God's history, that is. I can imagine how our heavenly Father has ordained and prepared for all the different individuals to carry out His passion and purposes in the presevation and transmission of His word, so that indeed, all the world may know Him and worship Him! Personally, my faith was strenghtened in God's word, not because we managed to catch a glimpse of the 4 pcs of dead seas scrolls which cements yet another archaelogical evidence for the solidarity of the Old Testament, but really, because I am amazed at how our God and Creator has orchestrated the history of events to make His word available and known to the world today! God knows that people living in our era need that evidence for His word... this would have been quite irrelevant to people living in previous centuries because no one would have ever dared doubt the authenticity and validity of the Bible.
With the advancement of technology, I can surely see how the good news of Jesus will reach the ends of the earth in greater and more powerful ways than ever before! Which again, brings us to a sober reminder of Matt 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." May we be diligent students, exemplars and loudhailers for God's truth!
The happy bunch of folks waiting to get inside The Arts House! Shawn posing with an interesting 'rice grain' sculpture outside... waiting for the rest to come and viola! We're in the theater watching a video...

A clay tablet depicting ancient writing- looks a bit like hieroglyphic to me. There were other exhibits that displayed cuneiform writing, which are written using a scalpel like pen to carve words onto clay.

We had a really great time celebrating God's faithfulness in our church and lives! Indeed, He is our very present help in times of need, and this year's anniversary reminded me of how faithful and great our God is... =)

vision
The Joshua Connection youth aims to...
:: Love God with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength (Deut 6:5);
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
:: Love the body of Christ through fellowship, discipleship and service (1 Cor 12:27; Eph 4:11-13; Gal 5:13);
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Cor 12:27
"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:11-13
"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love." Gal 5:13
:: Love others by sharing the gospel and our lives (Matt 5:14-16; 29:18-20).
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matt 5:14-16
"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 29:18-20
