Hey all, I'm finally writing something in this blog... after failing miserably in my attempts at trying to pen something down regularly =) Do be gracious with me la! But hey, I was really inspired by what Dawn shared... Thank you for baring your soul with such transparency. It is because of testimonies like yours that we remember how frail we are and yet how gracious and amazing our God can be to make a way out whenever there seems to be no way!
Just wanted to share some of my own thoughts as i reflect upon a sermon i heard today in school. It was a time of refreshing for me especially as most of you know by now that i have been quite stressed out with school work and assignments lately... work seems to be this insurmountable mountain that I struggle to climb, even though as Bible College students and future ministry leaders, you would have thought that we're able to handle it better, right? =) Anyway, just as i was mulling over a probable burn out, lack of vision and spiritual dryness, God spoke to me through this wonderful speaker in my school chapel. He said that we are all so familiar with the saying that God helps those who help themselves. But what happens when we are unable to help ourselves? What happens when we fall so weak and far below that we have no more energy and strength left to keep going on? Would God still help us then?? And this is our hope- that it is especially in those moments when we can't do anything for ourselves [or for anyone else] that God would lift us up in our times of need/ trouble/ burn out/ sorrow/ pain/ brokenness. It is just as what the prophet Isaiah says in
Isaiah 40:29 "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."
Our God gives us strength especially when we are weak and weary. Even though i feel helpless when i think of all the assigments yet undone and the other many responsibilities i have to bear, I am greatly comforted to know that God cares for me, watches over me and will see my through it all. So if you're feeling hopelessly weak and helpless, take comfort that God is our everpresent help, our faithful deliverer, comforter and friend. Take courage, take heart- He will save you when you cry out to Him =).
Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

The Joshua Connection youth aims to...
:: Love God with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength (Deut 6:5);
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
:: Love the body of Christ through fellowship, discipleship and service (1 Cor 12:27; Eph 4:11-13; Gal 5:13);
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Cor 12:27
"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:11-13
"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love." Gal 5:13
:: Love others by sharing the gospel and our lives (Matt 5:14-16; 29:18-20).
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matt 5:14-16
"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 29:18-20
